21 Sep Creating a better world through our children
Like Texas Farm Girl, we learn a new life lesson from PawPaw in each Texas Farm Girl book. Whether it’s learning how to be positive in negative situations, reaping what you’ve sown, or the importance of sustainability and preserving God’s beautiful creation, PawPaw has instilled in us that integrity and hard work are the keys to a solid foundation in life.
If you follow Texas Farm Girl on social media, you’ve probably seen a quote by Secretary of State Rex Tillerson:
“The greatest asset, even in this country, is not oil and gas. It’s integrity. Everyone is searching for it, asking, ‘Who can I do business with that I can trust?’ A man is only as good as his word.”
Our country’s backbone was built on integrity and hard work. You can’t build a nation without sustenance, and farmers were there from the start to help build a strong and honest nation. They learned the land, paid attention to their environment’s needs, and did what it took to serve their fellow Americans, not only for their generations but for those to come. Farmers were pioneers at the root of discovery of our land.
Seeking out an honorable lifestyle is the only way to find true success, no matter what field you spend your time in. As a farmer myself, I’ve made it my mission to teach kids through the vehicle of farming by providing a reading tool to remind us what is truly important in life. And you can use your passions to do the same—even if your own kids are the only targets. All it takes is some quality time together. If you set an intention for the day, you’d be surprised how easy and fun it can be to learn together.
Our children of today will lead our country tomorrow. With so much heartbreaking news in the world today, it’s more important than ever to be the change you want to see in the world. Let that start with you, and let your lifestyle influence your children in a positive way. You’re never too young to live an honest life!
“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.” 1 Timothy 4:12
